“I wanted to start a company that I would want to work for if I didn’t own it,” says Frank Riordan, Founder, and CEO of DMC, Inc. By putting in place a process to hire the best people – not just smart, but ones that fit into the culture – DMC is consistently on the lists of the “Best Places to Work”. The process has taken time to develop and hone, and it involves the team, as well as utilizing some fairly simple tools Frank shares in this podcast episode.
Here are my three big takeaways from the conversation:
1. Frank utilizes a bottom-up approach to getting things done.
2. They’ve clearly identified the exact characteristics they want in new hires.
3. He facilitates and encourages strong relationships and bonds between his employees – even ones from different offices.
With a twenty-year plus track record, Frank is definitely an expert from which we can all learn.
