Just because you are a success at something doesn’t mean it makes you happy. Author, podcast host, and coach Laura Coe discovered this discontent when at the helm of a successful healthcare startup that she co-founded with her brother. As the company grew, so did her internal discomfort with the work not being aligned with who she was. When a fortuitous opportunity arose for her to leave, she began her journey to find her deep purpose and passion. She now uses this self-discovery to help others peel away their layers to find what their own purpose.
Here are my three big takeaways from the conversation:
1. Managing people takes a lot of energy to do it correctly, and it can be a lonely place.
2. It takes courage and work to find your authentic purpose, and there will be false starts along the way, as the same worn patterns often beckon.
3. When you settle for something that’s less than authentic, your body will tell you.
